"Northern Pintail" Rare Handcrafts Golden Ellipse Brown White Gold Alligator Leather 34.5 x 39.5mm

The decoration on this limited edition of ten watches with a dial in wood marquetry features a fine portrait of a Northern Pintail: a migratory bird commonly found in Europe, Asia and the American continent and abundantly portrayed by the artists of ancient Egypt. The marquetry-maker captured with extreme precision the streamlined plumage, the keen glance and the gracefulness of the bird, which stands out on a background in nuances of vert d’eau (watery green). To do honor to its noble elegance, he cut out and assembled 161 veneer parts and 25 tiny inlays, together spanning a palette of 45 species of wood in delicate colors with different textures and veining.
